Viso Brakes for a Ballgame HVM Driver Visits Countrymen at Kauffman Stadium
Kansas City, Missouri (April 26, 2009) – E.J. Viso got the Royal treatment while visiting Kansas City this weekend. The Kansas City Royals welcomed the PDVSA HVM Racing driver to a home game at Kauffman Stadium Saturday night, giving Viso an opportunity to visit with fellow Venezuelan and Royals infielder Alberto Callaspo.
Viso watched batting practice from the field and chatted with the Royals’ 26-year-old second baseman – who, like, Viso, sports the number 13. The HVM driver also had the chance to catch up with Venezuelan members of the visiting Detroit Tigers, whom he first met during a Comerica Park visit last summer.
“It’s always good to meet with fellow Venezuelan athletes and to see they are doing well in their sport,” said Viso. “I was very happy to have the chance to meet Alberto (Callaspo) for the first time, and also to see the Tigers players again. The ballpark is a great atmosphere and it made for a nice visit with everyone.”
Viso took in the Royals game while in town for Sunday’s Road Runner Turbo Indy 300 at Kansas Speedway. The race begins at 4 p.m. on Versus.
