HVM Changes Testing Schedule to Prepare a Second Car to Test Ryan Hunter-Reay
Indianapolis, Indiana (March 18, 2009) – HVM Racing has changed its upcoming testing schedule to better accommodate the team’s preparation of a second car to test driver Ryan Hunter-Reay. The team will no longer attend this weekend’s open test at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Ala., but instead will test at another site before the April 5 IndyCar Series season opener at St. Petersburg, Fla. The new test site will be announced in the coming days.
“We look forward to having Ryan test for us, but we want to make sure the timing of that test makes sense for everyone,” said Keith Wiggins, team owner.
Hunter-Reay was fitted for a seat this week at the HVM shop, where the team will be preparing another car for him. The team has not finalized an agreement with Hunter-Reay but continues to explore opportunities with him for the 2009 race season.
HVM attended the first pre-season test at Homestead, Fla., with E.J. Viso, driver of the No. 13 PDVSA HVM Racing Honda Dallara. The team will take both cars and both drivers to the second test.
